If you have a small amount of shares the administration cost of transferring or disposing of the shares can often outweigh their value to the individual. These shares can be used to benefit Operation Smile by using the charity ShareGift. ShareGift is an independent registered charity (charity no 1052686), set up to collect donations of unwanted shares and use the proceeds to make donations to UK charities.
ShareGift specialises in accepting small holdings of shares. The charity collects these shares until they have enough to sell and then makes charitable donations from the funds created, based on suggestions made by share donors.
